Taylor Swift’s new album 1989, was released on October 27th.
1989 is Swift’s fifth studio album. Swift has been in the spotlight for quite some time now, and is known for her many boyfriends. She is also known for writing hit songs about them. On previous albums, many songs were about young heartbreak. But 1989 is much different than her other albums.
Swift has changed her sound from country to pop. Some would argue that they prefer her as a country singer, but others like her as a pop star. Swift’s other albums include Fearless, Speak Now, and Red. 1989 is a big departure from these albums. They still had somewhat of a country feel, but there is not a trace of country on this album.
The music on 1989 is very different than anything we have heard from Swift before. The songs have a very pop appeal to them. From what I can tell, people either hate it or love it. I think it surprised many people; it certainly surprised me. This album is very different, but it still sounds like Taylor Swift. There are so many elements of Swift in this album, although it has a different sound.
Songs like “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space” are two of the songs that sound most different to me. They still sound like Taylor, in reference to the lyrics, but their sound is very different. Some tracks on this album are much more pop than country.
I have noticed that people, who did not like her old music, tend to like this album. But some of her die-hard fans were not so crazy about this album. I think that it all depends on one’s music preference. 1.2 million albums were sold during its first week being released according to MTV.
Swift made a bold move, and did something that she has never done before. I think that it paid off. It shows that she has range, and does not have to do the same, like I had previously thought. I think it is a great album, and possibly the best album of the year. Please note, Target is the only store to sell the exclusive version with bonus tracks.
